Iran says it will not stop uranium enrichment or give up its stockpiles

Iran says uranium enrichment is an essential part of its nuclear program and will continue.

The United States and some of its allies say Iran’s enrichment raises concerns about efforts to develop nuclear weapons, while Tehran denies seeking them.

The two countries are also discussing proposals to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy shipments.

Iran says the strait could reopen within seven days if certain conditions are met.
