Suki raises $90 million to develop AI agents for healthcare tasks

Healthcare AI company Suki raised $90 million in a Series E funding round.

The company makes tools that use AI to help with clinical notes, orders, billing and patient summaries.

It plans to build AI agents to handle tasks after patient visits, including referrals, medication authorizations and scheduling follow-ups.

The agents will draw on information from Suki’s existing tools.

Suki will also expand its work with more than 30 technology partners, whose platforms already include its products.

Those partners include Optum, Zoom and athenahealth.

The funding will help Suki extend its tools beyond clinical documentation, as it competes with other AI scribe companies that have also raised large sums.

The company says it will use the money to develop the agents and deepen its partnerships.

We want to go deep with them. We don't want to add 30 more [partners] necessarily; we want to actually go deeper…[and] deepening means taking those features we have built on the Suki app and giving all of them to our partners
