England call up Thomas Rew and Eddie Jack for Australia T20 series
England have called up 18-year-old Thomas Rew and seamer Eddie Jack for next month’s five-match T20 series against Australia.
Rew, a wicketkeeper-batter for Somerset, captained England at the Under-19 World Cup in February, while Jack is a 21-year-old Hampshire prospect.
Both players are uncapped at international level, and Rew could become only the third 18-year-old to play men’s international cricket for England if he appears in the first three matches.
They have limited T20 experience, but England are looking to build for the future with the next T20 World Cup not due until late 2028.
Neither is in the squad for the three one-day internationals that begin the tour.
The T20 series will give them a chance to test themselves in Australia, where England will face a strong team.
