Canada declassifies details of U.S. intelligence help for Nazi collaborators
Canada has released more details from a report about people suspected of helping Nazi Germany who came to Canada after the Second World War.
The report says a U.S. Army organization linked to the CIA helped some people immigrate, possibly using false papers.
An RCMP memo said 35 people had already arrived with its help, while 52 more applicants were rejected.
The information matters because it sheds light on how people accused of wartime crimes may have entered Canada.
