Florida A&M coach ends quarterback’s interview amid post-game tensions

Florida A&M beat Alabama State 28-27 on Friday in a college football game.

After the game, quarterback Armond Parker was being interviewed by reporter Symone Stanley when Florida A&M coach Quinn Gray urged him to leave for the locker room.

Gray later said tempers were flaring on the field and he wanted to prevent a confrontation.

He apologized to Stanley and the Southwestern Athletic Conference TV crew for ending the interview abruptly.

Stanley thanked people for their support.

Video showed players exchanging words before coaches separated them.

Florida A&M scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to win and improve its record to 2-4.

The available account does not say what further action, if any, will follow.

What people are saying

There was a situation happening on the field and tempers were flaring and I needed everyone to get to the [locker room] so there wasn't another story that would have needed to be explained.
