WWE’s Money in the Bank retrospective leaves out several 2011 stars
WWE showed a video about past Money in the Bank events during its 2026 event on Oct.
10.
The video included selected moments from the July 2011 show, featuring John Cena, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth and Randy Orton.
It left out Bryan Danielson, then known in WWE as Daniel Bryan, who won the SmackDown ladder match that night.
Danielson later used his contract to win his first WWE world championship.
Christian Cage, who won the World Heavyweight Championship at the 2011 event, and Alberto Del Rio, winner of the Raw ladder match, were also absent.
Danielson and Cage are now associated with AEW.
WWE has not said why it left them out, and the omissions do not show that their matches have been removed from WWE’s archives.
WWE’s Money in the Bank 2026 retrospective omitted several notable participants from the July 2011 event.
