King Charles warns of evolving online threats
King Charles III has warned that disinformation and other hostile online activity threaten trust and security.
He made the comments in a letter marking the 10th anniversary of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, or NCSC.
The centre was established in 2016 to protect the UK from cyber threats.
The King said malicious actors are changing their tactics with automated technologies.
He praised the NCSC for defending against cyber attacks and protecting democratic institutions and essential services.
His warning comes after hackers used Asos’s app system to send customers a notification, and the retailer said it was investigating unauthorised activity involving third-party platforms.
The NCSC offered Asos assistance earlier this week.
