Rachel may bring heavy rain and strong winds to Baja California

Rachel is moving toward Baja California, where rain and strong winds are expected this weekend.

Forecasts include up to 110 km/h wind gusts in parts of Ensenada and San Quintín, but that does not mean those speeds have already been recorded everywhere.

Rachel’s path could change, and a direct hit on land is not confirmed.

Hurricane Simon is a separate system that could bring dangerous weather to Mexico’s western coast.
