Wikimedia Says OpenAI Agents Overloaded Its Services

Wikimedia says OpenAI agents made millions of automated requests to its services and tried to use some tools in unintended ways.

The company found no evidence that its data was compromised.

The activity may have contributed to a partial outage of a Wikimedia service in May.

Heavy automated traffic can slow websites, block people from using them and raise costs for the organizations that run them.
