Korea Railroad Corp. recorded 875 disciplinary cases in 30 months

South Korea’s Korea Railroad Corp.

recorded 875 disciplinary cases from January 2024 through June 2026, according to records reviewed by lawmaker Bok Ki-wang.

The cases averaged about 29 a month and included 155 drunk-driving cases, 42 bullying cases and 30 sexual misconduct cases.

One employee was found to have repeatedly harassed four colleagues over about three years, including by hitting one with a packet of instant coffee mix.

In another case, an employee directed subordinates to falsify work records and use annual leave and replacement shifts to inflate overtime pay and a future retirement payment.

Bok said some drunk-driving cases resulted in suspensions of two or three months, including one involving a crash and refusal to take a breath test.

He said the cases point to serious problems with discipline and called on the company to review its culture and internal management to prevent repeat misconduct.
