Rams unlikely to open Myles Garrett’s practice window this week

Rams unlikely to open Myles Garrett’s practice window this week

Myles Garrett, a defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams, is recovering from knee surgery.

The team placed him on injured reserve after Week 1, and he has missed four games.

NFL rules allow him to return to practice after Week 5, but the Rams are unlikely to open that window this week.

Coach Sean McVay says Garrett is making good progress, but the team wants him to meet recovery benchmarks and test his knee in football activities before deciding when he can play.

McVay also said Garrett’s limited training-camp practice should not slow the process much now that the knee problem has been treated.

Garrett is expected to miss the Rams’ Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The team has not said when he will return to practice or play.
