Abascal warns Vox supporters against overconfidence ahead of November 29 election

Abascal warns Vox supporters against overconfidence ahead of November 29 election

Vox leader Santiago Abascal held a campaign event in Estepona, in southern Spain, ahead of elections scheduled for November 29.

He urged supporters not to become overconfident because polls suggest the right-wing bloc could win a majority.

Abascal accused Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez of being willing to use lies, tricks and violence, but offered no evidence in the speech for those claims.

He also warned about changes to the electoral register linked to a law that grants nationality to descendants of Spaniards who left the country.

Vox has challenged the law, and Spain’s Supreme Court has suspended the electoral effects of much of the nationality granted under it.

Abascal urged people to vote in large numbers and said Vox’s priorities include giving preference to Spaniards, encouraging return migration and reducing regulation.

He said he would travel to Ceuta for Spain’s October 12 national day instead of attending the parade in Madrid.
