Indonesia and Egypt Pledge Continued Support for Gaza Reconstruction

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met in Jakarta on Sunday.

They agreed that Indonesia and Egypt would continue supporting humanitarian aid for Palestinians and Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction.

The two leaders also said they would promote peace and support the creation of a Palestinian state.

Prabowo said both countries were concerned about violence affecting civilians, Israeli military operations and violations of international law and human rights.

He condemned illegal Israeli settlements and said a two-state solution was the way to achieve peace.

The leaders also expressed concern that conflict in the Middle East could threaten civilians and regional stability.

They said they would keep urging de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy.
