Operator of East Frisian hotel files for insolvency
Hotel Reichshof GmbH, which operates the Tides Boutique Hotel in Norden, East Frisia, has filed for insolvency.
The hotel was formerly known as the Reichshof and reopened under its new name in May 2026 after a major modernization.
The Aurich district court appointed a preliminary insolvency administrator on October 8.
The hotel and its restaurant are expected to keep operating, and new bookings are still being accepted.
The company’s 76 employees are guaranteed three months of pay through insolvency benefits.
The company says rising staff and operating costs, repayment of pandemic aid and customers’ reluctance to spend contributed to its financial problems.
The administrator is working with management to assess how the business can be stabilized.
