Missile strike hits Riyadh airport weeks before WWE Crown Jewel

Missile strike hits Riyadh airport weeks before WWE Crown Jewel

A missile struck a complex serving domestic flights at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.

Two regional officials said the airport was evacuated, and one said many people were wounded; no number was given.

Flights to Riyadh were diverted elsewhere.

The airport has been targeted several times over the past week, and Yemen’s Houthi group has claimed responsibility for earlier attacks.

The strike comes weeks before WWE is due to hold its Crown Jewel event in Riyadh on November 7.

The US Embassy has warned Americans in Saudi Arabia about possible flight cancellations, airspace closures and travel disruption.

WWE has not announced any change to the event’s date or location.
