Central Asian leaders and Azerbaijan call for closer cooperation

The five Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan agreed they need to work more closely.

They discussed trade, transport, regional security and sharing water.

Turkmenistan also signaled support for better links across the Caspian region, including a proposed pipeline.

The leaders have yet to turn many of their ideas into specific plans, so their next steps will show whether cooperation grows.
