Valencia launches working group to improve funding for startups and businesses
The Valencian Entrepreneurship Council has started a group on business funding and investment in the Valencian Community, in eastern Spain.
Entrepreneurship director Mónica Payá chaired its first meeting, with business groups, universities, investors and innovation centres taking part.
The group aims to help local projects find the money they need to grow without having to seek it elsewhere.
Funding remains a major challenge for the region’s startups and businesses, according to Payá.
Members will review existing resources, identify gaps and develop practical proposals to improve investment and connect founders with investors.
The group is due to meet again on 27 October and 11 November at CEEI Valencia.
It is the first of five groups planned, with later groups focused on rural entrepreneurship, dual-use technologies, technology transfer, and health and wellbeing.
