Indonesia and Egypt Condemn Israeli Settlement Construction

Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Jakarta on October 11, 2026.

The two leaders condemned Israeli settlement construction and voiced concern about violence, civilian casualties and violations of international law.

They called for restraint, dialogue and diplomacy to reduce tensions in the Middle East.

Prabowo said Indonesia supports a two-state solution and the Palestinian people’s right to determine their future.

El-Sisi said a Palestinian state based on the borders before the 1967 war, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the path to comprehensive peace.

The leaders also agreed to keep promoting peace and providing humanitarian aid to Palestine.

They warned that further escalation could endanger civilians and harm global stability.
