Police Identify Another Celebrity as Sender of Chats Linked to Kim Soo-hyun
Police reportedly identified another celebrity as the sender of 2016 KakaoTalk messages involving late actress Kim Sae-ron, not actor Kim Soo-hyun.
The messages were presented by HoverLab as evidence that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron had a relationship while she was a minor.
A forensic examination found no evidence on her devices that they were dating during the period in question.
Investigators reportedly matched the messages to Celebrity A using the original conversation and the person's writing habits.
Dispatch also reported that HoverLab head Kim Se-ui told an employee to replace the sender label “Unknown” with Kim Soo-hyun's name.
Police concluded in May that the claim was false, after allegations surfaced in March 2025.
Kim denied the allegations and took legal action against Sae-ron's family and HoverLab; he has since resumed public activities.
