Turkey targets completion of 40.5 billion lira fund payouts by weekend

A fund coordination board chaired by Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz reviewed the wind-down of investment funds in Turkey.

The process covers 66 funds and 45,745 investors, with a total of 40.5 billion lira in assets and cash to be distributed.

Last week, Ziraat Bank paid 6.4 billion lira to 43,643 investors in funds managed by A1, Bulls and Pardus.

Another 34.1 billion lira across 49 funds is targeted for completion by the weekend.

The funds are being wound down after Turkey’s Capital Markets Board decided they should be liquidated.

A bill to make the process fair, transparent and legally secure was submitted to parliament on October 9 and is expected to be discussed by a parliamentary commission on October 14.

Interim payments for 65 other funds are targeted after the bill becomes law.
