Study links regular shoe use to differences in ankle bone structure
Researchers examined the inner structure of the talus, a bone in the ankle, in 56 adults.
They found differences between people who regularly wore shoes and people who usually walked barefoot.
The study cannot show that shoes alone caused the differences, because the groups also differed in other ways.
The findings may help researchers interpret how ancient humans moved from fossil bones.
