YMTC PC550 SSD exceeds rated speeds while keeping heat under control

The YMTC PC550 is a fast storage drive designed for compact computers, where heat and power use can be concerns.

In tests, its read speed exceeded the maker’s rating, and it handled a long write test at an average of about 2,003MB/s.

It also stayed thermally controlled during a demanding combined workload.

This matters because strong, steady performance can be more useful than a brief burst of speed.
