Study finds fully remote workers reported more isolation and mental health care

Researchers compared survey data from workers in jobs that could be done remotely with data from workers in jobs that could not.

Fully remote workers reported more time alone, more psychological distress and greater use of mental health care.

The study was observational, so it cannot show that remote work caused these changes.

It did not assess benefits such as avoiding commutes or having more flexibility.
