Chinese automakers improve service satisfaction in Mexico, study finds
Chinese automakers raised their customer service satisfaction score in Mexico by 41 points from the previous year, according to a 2026 study by J.D. Power.
The study covers owners of vehicles one to three years old who visited an authorized dealer for service in the past 12 months.
Chinese brands had faced complaints about missing spare parts and dealers not honoring warranties.
BYD led the rankings with 904 points, followed by Honda with 899 and Mazda with 893.
The study drew on evaluations from 6,530 owners of 2023, 2024 and 2025 model-year vehicles.
It also found that 95% of Chinese-brand owners said their service work was done right the first time, compared with 98% for owners of US, Japanese and South Korean brands.
As vehicles increasingly need software updates and specialized repairs, the study says dealers will need trained technicians and stronger service capabilities to build customer trust.
