Shinhan Bank and shipping association plan financing support for Korean carriers

Shinhan Bank and the Korea Shipping Association have agreed to work together to support South Korea’s shipping industry.

They signed the agreement on October 12 in Yeouido, Seoul.

The association represents shipping companies and helps address business and policy issues affecting them.

The partners plan to identify companies’ financing needs, including funding for cleaner ships.

They also aim to develop support for small and medium-sized shipping companies, as well as financial services and consulting suited to the industry.

Shinhan plans to use its Busan-based Shinhan SOL Cluster network and information shared with the association to match support to each company’s needs.

The partners say this work is intended to help the industry become more sustainable and competitive.
