Agnimitra Paul orders Salt Lake Ward 39 footpaths cleared
Agnimitra Paul visited an area of Salt Lake where many sidewalks were blocked.
Cars, motorcycles, bricks, sand and other items were on the footpaths.
She said sidewalks are meant for people walking, not for private use.
She especially wanted children and older people to be able to walk safely.
She ordered the paths to be cleared by that night.
She told officials to remove materials and vehicles blocking them.
She also warned officials not to allow the sidewalks to become blocked again.
At a nearby market, she opened a machine selling cloth bags for ₹10.

Paul also inaugurated a ₹10 cloth-bag vending machine at CA Market to discourage plastic use.
