Government to announce high-powered panel on banking reforms

The government of India wants to make its banks better and stronger.

A very important leader named Nirmala Sitharaman said the government will create a special group of experts to help improve banks.

This group is called a high-powered committee.

She made this announcement at a big meeting called PSB Confluence 2026.

The meeting is happening in New Delhi and lasts for two days.

Many leaders from public banks and financial institutions came to talk about the future of banking.

They discussed how to encourage people to save money in banks.

They also talked about helping young people, since 29% of India's population is between 15 and 29 years old.

The experts will discuss more topics, like farming and credit cards, on the second day.
