He could not escape and remained trapped for nine days.

During that time, he said he chanted “Hare Krishna” and hoped rescuers would find him.

Sah was eventually brought out safely.

This happened on Krishna Janmashtami, a festival celebrating the birth of Krishna.

Another worker, Kabir Maharjan, was rescued too.

Sah was reported to be in stable condition and taken to a local hospital.

Maharjan needed more medical care and was flown to a hospital in Kathmandu.

Rescue teams continued looking for other people who might still be inside the tunnel.
