Tirumala Brahmotsavams Conclude With Chakra Snanam Ceremony
The Brahmotsavam is a nine-day religious festival held at Tirumala.
It ended with a ceremony called Chakra Snanam.
During this ceremony, priests gave the Sudarshana Chakra a special bath in the temple tank.
Many devotees also bathed in the tank.
People believe the water becomes sacred during the ceremony.
Earlier, priests performed several prayers and bathing rituals for the deities.
Sacred verses were recited throughout the programme.
The final ceremony is meant to complete the festival and bless those who helped or attended it.
The nine-day annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams concluded Wednesday at Tirumala.
Chakra Snanam, also called Avabhrutham, was performed at the Srivari Pushkarini.
Devotees took a holy dip in the temple tank alongside the ceremonial bathing of the Sudarshana Chakra.
Earlier rituals included Pallaki Seva and Snapana Tirumanjanam for Lord Malayappa Swamy and His consorts.
Priests said the concluding ritual marks completion of the festival and is believed to remove shortcomings in its ceremonies.
