High Court Halts Alleged Unauthorised Whitefield PG Construction
HC halts construction in Bengaluru’s Whitefield over alleged violations, seeks GBA action · thehansindia.com

Residents in Whitefield say many large paying guest buildings were built in a crowded area.

They claim the road is too narrow for the number of buildings and people there.

They are worried about traffic, parking, water, sewage, fresh air and emergency vehicles.

The residents asked the Karnataka High Court to intervene after earlier complaints did not stop construction.

The court has temporarily stopped more construction at the site.

It told the Greater Bengaluru Authority to make sure the order is followed.

The authority must also explain what it has done since an earlier demolition order.

The case will examine whether the whole layout and its approvals were legal, not just whether individual buildings followed the rules.
