Kerala CM Satheesan Alleges News Reporting Unethical to the Core
On Tuesday, the Chief Minister of Kerala, V D Satheesan, spoke about the news in his state at a meeting of journalists.
He said that some news reporting in Kerala is becoming very unfair and wrong.
Long ago, if a newspaper printed something incorrect, it would say sorry and take it back within a day.
Now, he says, newspapers do not take back wrong reports and sometimes add more false details.
He also thinks news is being made up when there is nothing real happening.
He said the people of Kerala are smart and laugh at such silly reports.
The Chief Minister is sad that journalists and leaders no longer talk to each other like they used to.
He said it is fine to criticize leaders, but journalism loses trust when it goes too far.
He asked experienced journalists to teach others how to report news the right way.
