Conservatives overwhelmingly back Poilievre as leader

The Conservative Party in Canada had a meeting to decide if they wanted to keep their leader, Pierre Poilievre.

They voted and 87.4% of the people said they wanted him to stay.

Poilievre lost his seat in the last election but came back after winning a special election.

The Liberal Party, led by Prime Minister Mark Carney, won the election.

Carney is very popular now, with 60% of people approving of him.

But many people, 58%, don't like Poilievre.

Some people think Poilievre should have at least 75% of the vote to show he has the party's support.

The Conservatives had a big lead over the Liberals last year, but things changed when the U.S. President threatened to make Canada part of the U.S.
