Maharashtra unveils teacher recruitments, Super 100 amid NEET scrutiny

This week, the school education department of a big Indian state called Maharashtra made several announcements.

It said it will hire more than 30,000 new teachers.

It also decided to make many teachers who were working on temporary contracts permanent.

Those teachers worked for a programme called Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, and some of them had been waiting for this for about ten years.

The state also started a new programme called 'Super 100'.

This programme will help students in government schools get ready for big college entrance exams called JEE and NEET.

All these announcements happened at a time when people were asking questions about the NEET exam.

Some people have also been asking the education minister, Dada Bhuse, to resign because of a test paper leak called TET.

Meanwhile, one minister walked out of his own meeting when people started talking about money.

The Bombay High Court also said that some city problems only get fixed when a judge tells officials to fix them.
