India’s Semiconductor Ambitions Take Center Stage at SEMICON India 2026
India is holding a large event about computer chips called SEMICON India 2026.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open it on September 17 in New Delhi.
The event will last three days.
Companies from India and other countries will show their chip-related work.
Experts will discuss how to make chips, design them, and use them in electronic products.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate SEMICON India 2026 in New Delhi on September 17.
The three-day event, running through September 19, is jointly organized by the India Semiconductor Mission, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and SEMI.
More than 600 exhibitors, including nearly 300 international companies, will occupy 15,000 square metres of exhibition space.
The conference will cover chip manufacturing, artificial intelligence, design, advanced packaging, research, supply chains, and workforce development.
Start-ups, students, researchers, and investors will participate through showcases, a pitch competition, a hackathon, and international country roundtables.
