Man Dies, Girlfriend Injured in Vasai Bridge Bike Crash
A young man and his girlfriend were riding a motorcycle at night to go to the beach.
The motorcycle hit the railing of a bridge and crashed.
The man, who was 20 years old, was hurt very badly and later died at the hospital.
The girl, who is 19, is also badly hurt and doctors are taking care of her.
The accident happened on a road called Kalamb-Nirmal road, near a place called Vasai.
It happened late at night, around 11 o'clock.
People who live nearby rushed to help and took both of them to a hospital in Nalasopara.
The doctors tried hard to save the man, but he passed away early Monday morning.
Police think the motorcycle was going too fast, which made the rider lose control.
The police are still looking into exactly what happened.
Ibrahim Sheikh (20), a resident of Bilal Pada in Nalasopara, died after his motorcycle crashed into the Kalamb bridge railing.
His girlfriend, Sneha Gaikwad (19), a resident of Vikhroli, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The couple was travelling to Kalamb beach on Sunday night when the crash occurred at around 11 p.m. on the Kalamb-Nirmal road.
Preliminary information suggests the motorcycle went out of control due to excessive speed.
An accidental death report has been registered at the Arnala Coastal Police Station, and police are investigating the exact cause of the crash.
