Coal India is a company that supplies coal to power plants and other industries.

It sent out more coal in August than it did in the same month last year.

Its total August supplies rose to 60.60 million tonnes.

Power plants received 48.46 million tonnes, while other industries received 12.12 million tonnes.

The company also sent out more coal during the first five months of FY27.

This helped reduce the coal stored near its mines by about 55 million tonnes.

Even after this reduction, about 76 million tonnes remained in storage.

Coal India expects mining and transportation to improve as the heavy rainy season weakens.
