Police in Telangana investigated a group accused of making and selling an illegal drug called alprazolam.

Five people were arrested in the case.

Officers found drugs, cars, phones and cash during their investigation.

They also searched a factory in Maharashtra that was permitted to make fertilisers but was allegedly making alprazolam instead.

Police seized about 30 kilograms of the drug from that factory.

They then examined property records belonging to the accused and their family members.

Officials said those properties were worth ₹5.15 crore according to government valuations.

The police said they will continue trying to recover assets linked to illegal drug sales.
