Commissioner Urges Faster 100-Foot Master Plan Road Widening
Visakhapatnam officials want to make a planned road much wider.
The road would run from Gopalapatnam Junction Arch to Old Goshala.
It is planned to be 100 feet wide and 3.10 kilometres long.
The commissioner wants the work finished in 120 days.
Officials say 348 properties may be affected by the widening.
They will first survey the road and mark where it will go.
Some buildings and a part of a temple may need changes.
The government says affected people will receive compensation according to the rules.
GVMC plans to widen a 3.10-km Master Plan Road from Gopalapatnam Junction Arch to Old Goshala.
Commissioner Ketan Garg directed officials to complete the road-widening works within 120 days.
Officials identified 348 affected properties, including 210 on the right side and 138 on the left.
GVMC will survey the route, mark the road, identify affected government and private land, and prepare an action plan.
The project will include compensation, centre medians, retaining walls, and other infrastructure, with funding and construction responsibilities divided among agencies.
