Kerala Government Announces Bonus and Festival Allowance for Employees
The Kerala government is giving a special money gift to the people who work for it.
This gift is for the festival season and can be up to Rs 4,500, or one month of pay, whichever is smaller.
Workers must have worked for at least six months to get the bonus.
Workers who do not get the bonus will get a smaller festival allowance instead.
Different workers get different amounts, like nurses and anganwadi workers getting one amount and school counsellors getting another.
Retired people who used to work for the government also get a small allowance.
Nobody gets both the bonus and the allowance, only one of them.
The money will start being handed out on August 17.
It is a thank-you from the government to its workers during festival time.
The Kerala government has sanctioned a bonus of up to Rs 4,500 and special festival allowance for state employees for financial year 2025-26.
Eligible employees will receive one month's pay or Rs 4,500, whichever is less, per the government order issued on August 14.
Eligibility requires being in service as of March 31, 2026, and completing at least six months of continuous service during 2025-26.
Employees not eligible for the bonus will receive a special festival allowance ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 1,250 depending on their category.
Disbursement begins August 17, and the benefits must be drawn and disbursed on or before March 31, 2027, with each recipient getting only one benefit.
