Fort Hood Apache Helicopter Crash Kills Two Near Salado, Texas

A big military helicopter called an Apache crashed near a small town in Texas.

Two people who were riding in the helicopter died in the crash.

The helicopter came down just after lunchtime, around 1:30 in the afternoon.

It landed near the town of Salado, close to a big highway called Interstate 35.

The crash also started a fire in the grass and brush nearby.

Helpers, like firefighters and sheriff's officers, rushed to the scene.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office told reporters what happened.

The people who fly helicopters work very hard to keep everyone safe.

Crashes like this are very sad and very rare.
