Blood bank incharge Dr Punit Tandon said the shortage recurs in the rainy season (July-August) because donation camps are not organised, with camps resuming in September.
The number of thalassaemia patients at Hamidia Hospital has risen from 7-8 to up to 25, increasing the demand for leuco-depleted blood.
