Eight Members of Chain-Snatching Gang Arrested in Telangana
Police in a town called Palvancha caught eight people who were part of a gang that steals gold necklaces from women.
The gang looked for women who were sleeping outside their homes in the open air and snatched their chains.
After the arrests, the police found six gold chains that together weighed about 150 grams.
They also found three motorcycles that the gang had used.
The stolen property is worth about 26 lakh rupees, which is a very large amount of money.
Police say the gang is linked to ten chain-snatching crimes in several nearby areas.
The leader of the gang is a man named Sunnam Nagendra Babu.
Police say he met some of his gang members while they were in jail.
One more suspected gang member, Thammishetti Bala Veeraswamy, is still running away from the police.
The police showed the arrested people to reporters.
