Navi Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Two in Chain-Snatching Case
Police in Navi Mumbai arrested two men accused of stealing gold chains.
The case began after a chain-snatching incident in Kharghar.
Investigators studied security-camera footage from the area.
They used the suspects’ clothing and a motorcycle to help trace them.
Police said the men admitted to five other similar offences.
These offences were reported in Kharghar, Koparkhairane and Rabale.
Officers recovered six gold chains and a motorcycle.
The two men were sent to judicial custody, and the investigation is continuing.
Crime Branch Unit-1 arrested two alleged habitual offenders on August 18 in a Kharghar chain-snatching case.
Police said CCTV footage, clothing and a motorcycle helped identify Naushad Mustaq Alam and Prashant Raju Magar.
The suspects allegedly confessed to five additional offences in Kharghar, Koparkhairane and Rabale.
Police recovered six gold chains weighing 69.950 grams and valued at Rs 7,39,627.
A black Honda Shine motorcycle valued at Rs 35,000 was also recovered, while further property recovery is underway.
