Shankar Ghosh announces special audit of SJDA's TMC-era functioning

In Siliguri, a city in India, there is a special group called SJDA that helps build roads, buildings, and markets.

On Friday, a minister named Shankar Ghosh said this group needs to be checked carefully.

This check is called an audit, and it will look at what SJDA did over the past 15 years.

The leaders want to know if any money was used the wrong way, and they think around ₹200 crore might be involved.

They also want to check whether some builders followed their special building permission letters, called LUCCs.

If the builders did something wrong, the leaders will investigate and find out who was responsible.

SJDA looks after parts of two areas called Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri.

The board also decided to give ₹100 crore to build new roads, fix bridges, and repair markets.

Local leaders called MLAs will tell the board what their areas need the most.

This way, the region can grow safely and fairly for everyone.
