BJP MLA Starts Hunger Strike Over Fund Block
A BJP MLA named Shankar Ghosh from Siliguri started a one-day hunger strike.
He says the state government and local agencies are not letting him use his special funds for making his area better.
He thinks they are being unfair and not helping him spend the money on important projects.
The mayor, however, doubts if the MLA is really serious about doing good work.
The MLA is protesting at a statue of a famous leader to get people's attention.

He alleges that the Bengal government and local agencies are obstructing the use of BEUP funds for development.
Ghosh claims that despite repeated requests, necessary actions are not being taken to utilize the funds.
The hunger strike is being observed at the pedestal of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's statue in Subhaspally.
Mayor Gautam Deb questioned Ghosh's sincerity in carrying out developmental works in his constituency.
