Mumbai RTO Finds 82 Ambulances Violating Rules, Fines Exceed ₹79,000
Mumbai transport officials checked 427 ambulances from January through August 2026.
They found that 82 ambulances were breaking one or more rules.

Andheri checked the most ambulances, while Vadala found the most violations.
Inspectors checked documents such as fitness certificates, insurance and permits.
They also checked oxygen, stretchers, first-aid equipment, sirens and emergency lights.
Brakes, tyres, lights and indicators were examined too.
The results show why ambulances need regular safety checks before carrying patients in emergencies.
