Mumbai Traffic Police Issue 18,818 Challans During Dahi Handi

Mumbai held Dahi Handi celebrations with many people and vehicles on the roads.

Traffic police checked whether motorists were following safety rules.

They issued 18,818 challans to people who broke those rules.

The fines collected totaled ₹1.92 crore.

Some people blocked traffic or rode without helmets.

Others jumped signals, drove on the wrong side or carried three people on one motorcycle.

Police also recorded 25 drunk-driving cases.

Officials said the enforcement was meant to prevent accidents and protect people using the roads.
