Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath opened a major carpet exhibition in Sant Ravidas Nagar.

It runs from October 4 to 7 and brings together hundreds of exhibitors and buyers from many countries.

He said carpet makers can now find opportunities in their home region instead of leaving for work.

He credited a government program with helping artisans access technology, designs and markets.

He also said carpets from Bhadohi are sold around the world.

According to the chief minister, the carpet industry provides direct work to more than five lakh people.

He said better roads, transport and security are helping businesses.

The exhibition gives makers a place to show their products to buyers.
