Jupally Pledges Restoration and Preservation of Ancient Egyptian Mummy

Tourism and Archaeology Minister Jupally Krishna Rao inspected the Dr. YSR State Archaeology Museum in Hyderabad.
The museum houses an Egyptian mummy dating to 2500 BCE, along with bronze, Buddhist, sculpture, firearms, and painting galleries.
Rao said the museum, which has faced years of neglect, would be restored.
Officials will prepare proposals to preserve the mummy based on a German experts’ report, at an estimated cost of Rs. 82 lakh.
The minister ordered officials to submit estimates for reconstruction, maintenance, and painting within a week.
