Nexperia and Tata Electronics Partner on India Chipmaking
Nexperia and Tata Electronics are joining forces to make and prepare computer chips in India.
Nexperia makes semiconductor parts used in cars and everyday electronics.
Its MOSFET products are planned for production at Tata Electronics’ future factory in Dholera, Gujarat.
Other Nexperia products will be assembled and tested at a Tata Electronics facility in Assam.
The companies will also work together on chip technology and research.
Tata Electronics is building both facilities as part of a $14 billion semiconductor investment.
They say the partnership will make chip supplies more reliable.
The deal comes while Nexperia is involved in a dispute with its Chinese parent company, Wingtech Technology.
